Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week at Manthorpe Building Products

10th - 14th February 2025

As we wrapped up National Apprenticeship Week here at Manthorpe, we took a moment to reflect on the incredible role apprenticeships play in shaping the future of the building materials industry. It’s an exciting time as we continue to nurture and support the next generation of talent, helping them develop valuable skills that will last a lifetime.

During the week, we had the pleasure of hearing from our Managing Director, Paul Manning, who took the time to share his thoughts on the importance of apprenticeships.

Paul’s message, which you can watch on our LinkedIn page, emphasises how Manthorpe is committed to both building outstanding products and fostering meaningful careers within our industry.

Supporting the Next Generation in Building Materials

At Manthorpe, we are incredibly proud to offer apprenticeship programmes that provide individuals with the opportunity to learn on the job, develop practical skills, and grow within the building materials sector. Whether someone is just starting out or looking to expand their existing knowledge, our apprenticeship schemes are designed to guide participants through every step of their journey, offering them hands-on experience and a path to long-term career development.

Paul Manning highlights how apprenticeships are key to ensuring the future of our industry is in capable hands. The importance of bringing new talent into the sector cannot be overstated, especially as we face the ever-changing challenges of the modern construction landscape. Through the apprenticeship programme, we are helping to provide individuals with the right tools, knowledge, and support to succeed in a thriving, dynamic industry.

Collaborating with Industry Leaders

Our commitment to developing new talent extends beyond our company. As proud members of the British Materials Federation (BMF), we work alongside other leading organisations to promote apprenticeships and encourage young people to consider a career in building materials. Through the BMF, we’re dedicated to making the sector an attractive and rewarding place to work.

We are also members of the 5% Club, an initiative that focuses on increasing the number of apprenticeships and graduate-level opportunities within UK businesses. This membership is a clear reflection of our ongoing commitment to driving growth in apprenticeship programmes and offering talented individuals the chance to kickstart their careers.

You can learn more about the exciting career opportunities we offer at Manthorpe through our dedicated BMF Careers page, where you’ll find a variety of roles to explore.

Building Careers, Building Products

At Manthorpe, we know that our apprentices are the future of the building materials industry. By supporting the next generation of talent, we’re not just creating skilled workers; we’re investing in the future of the entire sector. Our apprenticeships help individuals gain invaluable experience while contributing to the development of the high-quality products we are known for.

As we continue to grow and innovate, we remain committed to our core values: building both products and careers—together. We look forward to welcoming even more apprentices in the months to come, and we’re excited about the future of our industry and the amazing talent that will lead us there.
