Cavity closers to control moisture build-up
Thermal cavity closers prevent heat loss at key potential weak points in the cavity construct, at door and window reveals – heat loss that is both costly and avoidable. By solving cold bridging problems, properly installed thermal cavity closers can prevent condensation build up, damp and mould growth potentially leading to expensive repair work. Manthorpe’s cavity closers can act as effective vertical DPCs, although a dedicated DPC is recommended when used in a horizontal configuration. Furthermore, thanks to careful design and construction, they also offer maximum flexibility to configure to multiple size and dimensions requirements, including arched and round windows and doors. Our cavity closers are entirely British manufactured, as are the majority of our products; proudly supporting British manufacturing and minimising risk in the supply chain and in your project schedules. Cavity closers – variations for all situations Cavity closers from Manthorpe are available in both double and single flange variations for use in standard in-line cavity wall details and rebated reveals, respectively. They are available to fit cavity widths between 50 and 150mm, although we can supply closers up to 350mm on a bespoke order basis. Supplied in standard lengths, our cavity closers can be easily cut to fit with a saw without any loss of thermal efficiency. Similarly, shorter lengths of cavity closer can be joined. Some cavity closers can be preformed into frames or fixed directly on to window and door frames.
